Crossfit Milk District

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH

January, 2022

Joe Fecker started CrossFit Milk District in 2011. He fell in love with the neighborhood long before it was a national Main Street, when the Milk District was just the neighborhood’s nickname dubbed by locals.

“It was crustier back then,” says Joe. “A lot crustier. And we were proud.”

Joe Fecker is still proud to operate his gym in The Milk District. He believes the thriving community of local small businesses is what makes us so cool.

“People are out here trying hard, being creative and working their asses off,” explains Joe. “It’s not just a giant corporate monster trying to eat everything and take it all. We’re people out here hustling. We have a thriving community and we have a lot of different things to offer.”

CrossFit Milk District also has a thriving community with a lot to offer. The boutique model gym has group fitness, private training, and open gym hours. There’s even kids classes.

But the best thing about Joe’s gym? Is the community. Being surrounded by encouraging like-minded people creates accountability and sustainability that a big box gym can’t.

“We’ve got coaches that care,” says Joe, “and a fat little bulldog that’s expecting you to show up. If not for us, do it for the fat bulldog.”

CrossFit Milk District cares about Orlando locals, but also works actively with The OUT Foundation. This national nonprofit helps remove barriers that block LGBTQ+ individuals’ access and participation in fitness, health, and wellness.

“It’s an awesome program. It’s something more people should know about,” says Joe.
