“If you grow it, I wax it,” says Joan Martinez, owner of Bare Me Waxing. “Where there’s hair, we make bare.”
Bare Me Waxing is a fully owner-operated business. “Bare Me is just me,” explains Joan. Because of the nature of her business, Joan prioritizes her clients’ comfort. As the only waxer in her studio, she can offer consistency and privacy. She builds relationships with her clients and works to educate them on how to care for their skin.

“It was crustier back then,” says Joe. “A lot crustier. And we were proud.”
Joe Fecker is still proud to operate his gym in The Milk District. He believes the thriving community of local small businesses is what makes us so cool.
